Sweet Luna has waited patiently for her turn, and now it’s finally here! This beautiful girl is approximately 2 years old, weighs around 60 pounds, and has a heart as big as she is!

Luna is one of the 60 dogs rescued from an elderly veteran we have been helping for quite some time. After spending her life surrounded by so many other dogs, Luna is finally getting the opportunity to discover what it means to be a cherished family pet.

Luna is currently living in a foster home with children, dogs, and cats, and she’s doing wonderfully! She’s a little shy when she first meets someone, but once she begins to feel comfortable, her sweet and gentle personality starts to shine. She’s just happy to be somewhere safe, loved, and cared for.

We believe Luna would absolutely blossom in a quieter home with a relaxed lifestyle. Perhaps a retired couple who enjoys leisurely walks, peaceful afternoons, and having a big, lovable companion by their side. Luna has all the makings of a wonderful oversized lap dog!

We would especially love to see Luna in a home with another friendly, confident dog. Having spent her entire life surrounded by canine companions, another dog seems to give her comfort and reassurance as she adjusts to new surroundings.

Although Luna does well with children in her foster home, we don’t believe a busy household with lots of young children running around would be her ideal environment. She would be happiest in a calm, predictable home where she can build confidence at her own pace.

Luna isn’t asking for much. Just a soft place to sleep, a gentle hand to love her, a canine buddy to keep her company, and someone who will give her the patience and affection she deserves.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts local and in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.

The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.
