Indy - Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Princeton, Massachusetts

INDY

Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull Terrier
🇺🇸
Princeton, Massachusetts
July 8th
female, medium, baby

DESCRIPTION

Meet Indy! A bright pup who is eager to learn! She is energetic, bouncy, and loves to play.

This sweet girl was dumped at a home in Memphis. No collar, no microchip, and despite every effort to find where she came from, no one ever claimed her. Luckily for Indy, the family who found her made sure she was safe, cared for, and given a chance at a better future. Now she is at a local foster home.

Indy is doing well with people of all ages and sizes out in public including kids. She has shown great friendliness to other dogs and has even been cat tested (no aggressive tendencies). However due to her high energy, and intent to play rough she may do best in a home with only dog savvy cats, and older children.

Indy is a super loving pup, who just wants love and attention. Just to show you she will often army crawl her way up to you just to give you her belly to rub. These are her absolute favorite moments.
She so enjoys comfort and pillowy beds, which she fixes to her liking each time she gets in.
She also does great with outdoorsy activities such as camping, hiking, playing in the river, and perhaps her favorite; catching bugs. If outside, she has no problem finding a comfortable area or tree to lie under.

She is currently learning manners and boundaries and is making great strides at both. She will continue to need help and consistent training from her new family. However, she is a quick study, and eager to please as long as she gets a treat or attention in return.

Indy is mostly house trained though may need a day or two to adjust to your new routine.
She is also mostly crate trained! She will go in with the command "crate" and sit down. When closed in her crate she can usually settle well and will easily sleep through the night.
She is good on a leash, and when in an active training session can heal like a pro!
She does have a tendency to be vocal, so continued positive reinforcement training will help her learn when barking isn't necessary.

Just so you know, this girl is at her absolute best when she gets to learn new commands and practice one's she already knows.
She definitely is a dog that loves direction, and could possibly even enjoy being given a job to get her energy out and keep her mind engaged.

Indy is ready for the next chapter of her life. She's left her days of being abandoned behind and is looking for a family that will love her forever. She will be your absolute best friend, and will love you fiercely and loyally. If this all sounds great to you, apply and bring her home!
