Peach D6462 - Labrador Retriever and Shepherd Dog for Adoption

Peach is a sweet, playful girl who loves being part of a family and is happiest when she has people and a doggy friend to share her life with. She absolutely adores the dog in her foster home and would love a playful canine companion in her forever home to romp, play, and learn alongside. She still has plenty of puppy-like energy and especially enjoys playing with tennis balls.

Peach also loves her people and enjoys being close to them. She goes on three to four walks a day, which gives her plenty of opportunities to explore the world and practice her leash skills.

At home, she's wonderfully house-trained and has had no potty accidents. When the day winds down, Peach becomes a professional cuddler. She loves sleeping right beside her people in bed, where she'll curl up and softly snore the night away.

Peach is happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. She enjoys having company and would much rather be part of the action than spend long stretches alone. She's a curious girl who may investigate anything tasty left within reach, so keeping tempting treats off the counters helps her make good choices. She's also still working on feeling comfortable in her crate.

Peach has been in rescue for about a year now and has had a few meet-and-greets, but her initial shyness has made finding her forever family a challenge. She can experience some serious stranger danger, particularly with men, and adopters need to understand that she may not immediately show them the sweet girl we know and love.

But here's the important part: Peach warms up. She just needs time. Once she decides you're one of her people, her loving and loyal personality shines through, and she'll happily stick close by your side.

Because Peach can be vocal when she hears unfamiliar noises, she would do best in a home without shared walls. She's looking for someone who understands that building trust takes time and is willing to let her relationship with them develop at her own pace.
