Oh, sweet Lottie! This absolutely gorgeous yellow girl is the mama to our Charlottes Web Litter. She was found dumped on a rural road, pregnant, limping and in very poor shape. Shortly after she became a Save a Lab dog, she had a litter of beautiful puppies who have all found wonderful forever homes.
Lottie is only about a year old and weighs 60 pounds. She is house trained and crate trained. Lottie is happy to sleep in her crate. While she can be left alone outside of the crate when her foster mom is out of the house she sometimes gets into things, depending on her mood at the time!
Lottie has been busy having and raising 11 babies, so she is not yet leash trained. She is happy to learn and likes to please so it will be a fun activity for her new family to work on with her! Lottie is great with people, other dogs and does fine with cats. She is happy to ride in the car but hasnt gone long distances in a car yet.
While in foster care, Lottie has learned to play and learned that she really likes being a dog after all! She is a sweet young girl with a lot of puppy energy. She occasionally enjoys snuggling. Sometimes Lottie gets into things. She likes to take her foster moms shoes and put them in the living room. She occasionally, more like rarely, counter surfs, however, not just for food items. Lottie has a curious side and may open a package or a bag, but she hasnt been destructive with what she finds. She is learning not to jump on people when she meets them. She is doing really well and will continue to improve with more guidance.
Lottie was limping when she came into rescue. She has been evaluated and x-rayed. The veterinarian did not feel that there was anything wrong orthopedically but there could be an old soft tissue injury that causes her to have a bit of a limp
Lottie has not had an easy start to her life. She was clearly neglected, heartworm positive, pregnant and limping at such a young age. She has done a great job as a mama but will never have to do that again. Lottie has been treated for heartworms and is well on her way with her training. Lottie deserves a loving family who will continue to be gentle with her, treat her with love and continue to help her be the best dog she can be. She is very excited to pay that love back in spades!
Lottie will be available for adoption in RI on, or after, July 31, 2026.
