Hello, I'm Lady, and if I could wish for one thing, it would be a home where I feel safe, protected, and loved forever.

I'm a beautiful 2-year-old black girl with a heart that's just as big as my smile. Once I get to know you, I'll greet you with happy wiggles, a few excited jumps, and so much love. It doesn't take me long to decide you're my favorite person! My absolute favorite thing is being petted, and if you happen to stop, don't worry—I'll gently nudge your arm to remind you that I'm not quite finished soaking up all that affection.

When I'm inside, I'm the perfect house companion. I'm completely potty trained, have wonderful manners, and I'm an expert-level snuggle bug. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Curled up next to my favorite person? That's my happy place.

Outside is where my playful side shines! I love playing tug, chasing a ball in a game of fetch, rolling around in the grass, and heading out on adventures. When you pick up my leash, I can't help myself—I do the cutest little dance, twirl around, and crouch into a play bow because I know something fun is about to happen! I'm still working on my leash manners, but I'm smart and eager to learn.

I'd be happiest with an active adult or couple who will include me in their daily life. A fenced yard would be a dream so I can safely run and play. I'm incredibly loving, sensitive, smart, and playful—the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her people.

I do have a couple of things my future family should know. I'm still learning to share some of my favorite things and can show a little resource guarding, and my play style can be a bit enthusiastic. Because of that, I'd probably do best in a home without young children. I also haven't had enough opportunities to safely meet other dogs during my recovery, so we're not quite sure how I'll do with canine friends. I may need slow, thoughtful introductions, and the same goes for cats—I have spotted one before and thought it looked an awful lot like a very large squirrel! With patience and proper introductions, my new family can help me continue building confidence.

Everyone who meets me says there just aren't enough wonderful things to say about me. I'm loving, loyal, adorable, playful, and always ready to cuddle after a day of fun. If you're looking for a best friend who will adore you with her whole heart and make every day a little brighter, I just might be your girl.
