Hi there! My name is Courage, and I'm a big, handsome chocolate Lab with an even bigger heart. I'm 212 years old, weigh about 95 pounds, and I'm at a healthy weight for my large frame. Don't let my size fool you—more than anything, I just want to be close to my people.
My life didn't get off to the best start. My previous owner loved me but wasn't able to manage my energy, so I spent much of my time living in the garage instead of being part of the family. Now I'm discovering just how wonderful it is to be included, and I'm learning all about life as a house dog. It turns out I absolutely love it!
I'm a very smart boy who wants to make my people happy. I already know how to sit, I'm completely housebroken, and I have excellent recall when I'm off leash. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy having canine friends around.
If you have a tennis ball, we'll be best friends! Fetch is one of my favorite games, and I'm happy to bring the ball right back so we can keep playing. When the weather gets warm, you'll usually find me lounging in a little kiddie pool to cool off—it's one of my favorite places to relax. I also ride nicely in the car, so I'm always ready for a new adventure.
I'm still polishing a few manners. I can pull on the leash because I get excited to explore, and when I'm really happy, I can be a little mouthy. With consistency, positive training, and plenty of exercise, I'm already showing everyone just how much I love to learn.
What I want most is something I've never really had—a family that wants me by their side. I don't want to live in a garage. I want to be in the house, hanging out with my people, going for walks, playing fetch, riding along on errands, and ending the day with the people I love nearby.
If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, fun-loving companion who's eager to learn and ready for a fresh start, I think we could make a pretty amazing team.
I'm Courage, and I can't wait to show you that my name fits me perfectly. All I need now is someone to believe in me.
