Meet Monk!

Monk is a six-month-old Lab/German Shepherd mix (we think!) who has mastered the art of living his best puppy life. According to his foster family, he has just two modes: nap time snuggles and playtime. Whether he's wrestling with his dog siblings, carrying around his favorite toy, or curled up in someone's lap, Monk is happiest when he's surrounded by the people and pups he loves.

He's currently thriving in a loving foster home with more than five other dogs and absolutely adores them. The dogs all cuddle together, play together, and Monk is right in the middle of the fun. He's a playful, goofy little guy who loves toys, zoomies, and wrestling with his canine friends. He'll need a playful dog companion who will give him a little time to settle in, because once he's comfortable, he's all about having fun.

Monk is also a world-class cuddle bug. His foster mom says he would happily snuggle with her all day if she let him. He loves climbing into laps for what the family calls puppy uppies, and on weekend mornings, if he's let outside before everyone is awake, he'll sprint back into the house just to jump on the bed and give his foster mom good morning kisses. Once you're his person, he's your little shadow, following you from room to room just to be close.

He's also full of hilarious puppy antics. One day his foster family couldn't find him anywhere after filling the dog food container. They eventually discovered him standing perfectly still after accidentally getting himself stuck inside the empty dog food bag—with only his little tail sticking out! Monk loves squeezing into tiny hiding spots, crawling under the coffee table to surprise his dog siblings, and finding the coziest little nooks around the house.

Monk is fully crate trained, almost completely potty trained, loves to eat, and enjoys meeting new people. He's still building confidence on leash and in brand-new places, so a home with a fenced yard would help him continue to flourish. Once he has a little time to settle in, his sweet, affectionate personality shines.

He also did wonderfully with cats, calmly sniffing them before going about his own business, showing he has the potential to peacefully coexist with feline friends.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!

Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2-acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap-ranging from $100-$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
