Stormy Lawless believes there's a difference between meeting someone and knowing someone. At first, she might peek at you from underneath the couch, quietly deciding what kind of person you've wandered into her life.
Then someone picks up a wand toy, and suddenly the shy observer disappears. Out comes the playful kitten, batting, chasing, and having so much fun that you almost forget she was hiding just moments before. She's a wonderful reminder that sometimes the sweetest friendships start with a little patience.

You'll see her cautious curiosity melt into playful excitement the moment the wand toy starts moving. Watch for the way she can't resist joining the game, and don't miss those quiet moments in between where her gentle personality shines through. It's the kind of transformation that makes you root for her from the very beginning.
Estimated to be around 5 months old and weighing around 4 lbs, Stormy is a beautiful grey tabby kitten! As with all rescue animals, her age and breed are simply our best educated guess.
Stormy has been in her foster home for a little over a month, and she's done an incredible job settling into home life. When she was first rescued, she was severely underweight and in need of some extra care. With good food, a safe place to land, and plenty of love, she's filling out beautifully and now looks like the healthy, thriving kitten she was always meant to be!
While Stormy may take a few minutes to size up a new person, she doesn't stay on the sidelines for long. During our visit, she initially found comfort beneath the couch, carefully watching everything happening around her. It wasn't fear that defined her, it was thoughtfulness. She simply wanted to understand her surroundings before deciding they were safe.
Once the wand toy appeared, though, curiosity won. She happily came out to play, chasing and pouncing with the kind of enthusiasm only a kitten can bring.
Wand toys are easily one of Stormy's favorite things. They have a magical way of bringing out her playful side, and it's easy to imagine evenings filled with games that slowly strengthen the bond between her and her future family. She's also wonderfully food motivated, never turns down a good meal, and has clearly embraced the healthy routine that's helped her flourish.
One of the sweetest surprises about Stormy is how affectionate she becomes once she feels comfortable. She's happy to be picked up and held, enjoys being close to her people, and even gives little kitty kisses to show her affection. Those quiet moments of connection feel especially rewarding because you know they were built on trust.
Stormy currently lives with another cat and enjoys the companionship. She has also been introduced to her foster's dog. While the dog is respectful and cat-friendly, Stormy prefers to admire him from a comfortable distance for now. She simply likes to take her time with new canine friends. She hasn't yet been around young children, so any introductions should be thoughtful and gentle.
She's also an easy roommate in so many ways. Stormy rides beautifully in the car, settles comfortably in her crate, and has excellent house manners. She's not destructive and seems to appreciate having cozy spaces where she can relax after a good play session.
Stormy would love a family that understands confidence grows through kindness. A home that offers gentle introductions, interactive playtime, and plenty of opportunities for affection will help her continue blossoming into the wonderful companion she's already becoming.
Watching her choose to leave her hiding spot, chase a toy, curl up beside you, and eventually offer a tiny kiss is the kind of journey that's impossible not to treasure!
