Shakira - Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Falmouth, Maine

Meet Shakira! In March 2026 she is about 1 year old; she is thought to be a lab mix. Shakira is black with brown brindling, and a white chest patch. In June 2026 she was about 57 pounds; we don't expect her to get too much larger. Shakira was a stray found in a cleared logging area in the woods.

Shakira is a playful, affectionate pup with an independent streak. She'll cuddle a while before taking off on her own agenda. She is working on house training with her foster humans; she is not food aggressive. A home with a fenced yard will be ideal for her; she enjoys her walks and walks well on a leash. Shakira is smart, for sure; she sits at your feet when she's stopped. She's good with dogs and has no problems with cats (no close contact though).
