Parker is one of those dogs who makes you wonder how anyone could have ever let him down. This 40 pound, 1 year old Lab / Bulldog mix is an INCREDIBLY sweet, gentle, lovable big ol baby who truly doesn't have a mean bone in his body!
Parker was rescued from a rural shelter in Texas and made his way to Colorado for a fresh start. When he first arrived, he was understandably shy and confused by all the changes, but it didnt take long for this sweet boy to realize he was safe. Now he is absolutely loving life in his foster home and has blossomed into the happiest, sweetest guy!
One of Parkers favorite things in the entire world is other dogs. He absolutely LOVES having doggy friends around and lights up when he is with them. Having another dog helps him feel happy, confident, and comfortable, so Parker is looking for a home with another friendly dog who can be his best buddy. He is currently fostered with two other dogs and is in heaven having his friends around. He previously lived in Texas with three other dogs as well.
Parker is also wonderful with kids! His current foster home has kids ages 10 and 15, and he does great with them. His Texas foster home also had a 7 year old child, so he has plenty of experience being part of a family.
And did we mention that this boy is a TOTAL LOVER? Parker loves to cuddle, soak up attention, and get kisses right on his nose. He is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to his people, make them happy, and enjoy all the love he can get. He is gentle, affectionate, goofy, and just an all-around wonderful dog.
From Parker's foster:
"Parker is a really wonderful house guest! He is totally house and crate trained, good on leash, good with kids and other dogs, loves toys. He was a bit shy at first, but he has blossomed soooo much!!! Just give him a few days to realize he is safe."
Parker will do well with a family who's invested in spending time with their pup. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure. It can be a neighborhood walk, a visit with friends, a car ride or just an afternoon spending time together on the couch - all would speak to Parker's great temperament and love of his family. Farfel's isn't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Parker to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle.
Parker will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. We've requested that he be neutered / microchipped prior to his transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Parker's neuter and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used.
Farfel's highly recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) to our adopters. Research overwhelming shows that a natural, real food diet is the best we can do for our dogs. The result is a longer life with far fewer veterinarian visits.
Parker will be arriving on transport in Boulder in mid to late August. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving, sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Parker, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
