Meet Ami — She Got Her Second Chance. Now She Needs Her Person.

Ami came dangerously close to never getting this chance.

She was sitting in a shelter on death row, and her time was running out. We were given only a few days to find a way to save her.

People stepped up.

And because they did, Ami walked out of that shelter alive.

Now look at her.

That scared shelter dog has been replaced by this happy, smiling little girl who seems pretty darn pleased with the fact that she got to stick around. And frankly, we are too.

Ami appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier mix, which means she's got that wonderful little-terrier combination of personality, curiosity, intelligence and just enough sass to keep life interesting. She's a smaller girl with an adorable black-and-white face, a great big smile and ears that apparently couldn't agree on a single direction.

But Ami doesn't need another temporary stop.

She needs a home.

She needs someone who will look at that little face and think, Yep. You're mine.

Ami already fought the hard part. She made it out.

Now we need to finish her story by finding the family she was saved for.
