OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Nova is a stunning young Husky with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. He came into care after being surrendered with the help of the RCMP due to an an injury that required surgery, and despite everything he’s been through, he’s remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and easy to handle. Nova is friendly with everyone he meets, enjoys affection, and has been calm and well-mannered while recovering—quiet in his space, non-destructive, and content to rest. He walks beautifully on leash, rides well in the car, and happily joins other dogs on walks.

As he continues to heal, Nova is showing us he’s a medium-energy boy who would love a home where he can stretch his legs, play, and be part of the family. A secure yard would be a bonus, though not required, and while he doesn’t seem to need another dog, he’s social and easygoing around them. His curiosity suggests he may want to chase cats, so a cat-free home is likely best. Nova’s past doesn’t define him—his future does. He’s ready for a fresh start with someone who will give him the love, patience, and stability he truly deserves.

The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
