Meet Alaia!
A breathtakingly beautiful 2.5 year old girl who has already lived a lifetime’s worth of stories. When she first came into rescue, we learned she had once been hit by a car, leaving her pelvis broken and later fused as it healed. Because she’s currently comfortable, mobile, and pain free, our vets determined that surgery would likely create more problems than it would solve.
Just as we were processing that chapter of her past, Alaia surprised us with another. She was late term pregnant. This brave mama delivered nine gorgeous puppies, raised them with unwavering devotion, and watched each one go on to loving homes. Once her babies were safe, she began her next journey: heartworm treatment, which she completed like the resilient, gentle soul she is.
Now, at long last, Alaia is ADOPTABLE and ready for the soft, steady life she has always deserved. She is fully housebroken, wonderfully dog friendly with proper introductions, and absolutely kid approved, gentle and patient with children of all ages. She free roams the house with no issues, so we aren’t sure whether she’s crate trained. She also has not been cat tested.
What we do know is that she is a world class snuggler, a professional lounger, and a 60 lb couch potato who melts into your side like she’s been waiting her whole life for that moment. Alaia is tender, grateful, and deeply loving. She has survived hardship, raised a family, healed her body, and completed treatment. Now she’s ready for the chapter where she gets to be someone’s baby. If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a heart as big as her story, Alaia may be the one.
