DESCRIPTION

Meet Tuxedo — the dog who looks like he’s dressed for a fancy event… but acts like a total goofball.

Tuxedo is a 4-year-old Border Collie mix with a built-in tux, a sweet face, and the kind of personality that makes you laugh daily. He’s one of those dogs who wants to be your best friend… but just needs a minute to decide you’re not an undercover villain.

When you first meet him, Tuxedo can be a little shy and wary, especially if someone approaches too quickly or with nervous energy. The key with Tux? Slow introductions and letting him set the pace. Give him a moment, speak calmly, and suddenly you’ll see his true self come out — a bouncy, affectionate boy who looks genuinely proud of himself for making a new friend.

Once he’s comfortable, Tuxedo is a whole vibe. He’s smart, alert, and very tuned into his person, which means he learns fast… and will absolutely test boundaries just to see what he can get away with (Border Collie mix behavior at its finest). He’s the type of dog who thrives with someone who is gentle but firm — someone who can confidently redirect him when he gets unsure or overly excited.

And when he’s excited? Oh, he’s excited.
Tuxedo loves to play hard, bounce around like a spring-loaded toy, and will happily jump all over you if you allow it. He’s basically a dog who has never heard of personal space and would like to keep it that way.

Tuxedo will make an amazing companion for someone who wants a dog that’s not just a pet — but a little shadow, a sidekick, and a daily source of entertainment.

What Tuxedo needs:
* Fenced yard required (he’s got energy and needs room to zoom)
* A home that understands that shy dogs need patience
* A person who enjoys training and setting boundaries

Other pets:
Tuxedo is looking to be an only-pet kind of guy. He is very dog selective and is too interested in cats, so he’ll need a home with no cats and likely no other dogs.

Kids:
We think Tuxedo would love kids, but they should be old enough to be coached through a slow introduction, so he doesn’t get overwhelmed right away.

If you want a dog who is equal parts sensitive soul, playful athlete, and goofy best friend — Tuxedo is ready to follow you everywhere and make your life a little more fun (and a little more chaotic in the best way).

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
