Meet Hershey, a one-year-old Hound/Pointer mix who arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 5th. He is a gorgeous chocolate brown boy with white ticking across his muzzle, chest, and legs — a classic pointer pattern that makes him look like he was made to turn heads. His warm amber eyes and expressive face make him even more irresistible in person. At 43 pounds with room to grow, Hershey is estimated to reach approximately 45 to 55 pounds as an adult.

Hershey is sweet and playful, with the kind of energy that lights up a room. He is a young, athletic dog who is ready to run, explore, and make the most of every single day. A home with a yard would be his dream come true — somewhere he can stretch his legs, follow his nose, and really come alive.

He came in as a stray, so his full story is unknown — but what is clear from the moment you meet him is that Hershey is a good boy who is ready to pour all of that sweetness and playfulness into the right home. He has been patient, but he is more than ready to trade the shelter kennel for a couch, a yard, and a family to call his own.

Hershey is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccines, and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is one of those dogs who is just as cute in person as he looks in his photo — and that is saying something. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
