Meet Sammy!
This 1 year old, 70lb gentle fluffy boy is looking for his forever family!!
After being found as a stray in TX with his sister Missy (coming up North in a few weeks and up for adoption separately), he is really enjoying the good life!
His foster dad says:
"Sam is a stellar example of his breed, and I now understand why they are called the "Great" Pyrenees.
He is dignified, calm, independent, and sensitive.
Sam makes you win him over. He is cautious at first, but after a few days, will be booping you with his nose to indicate he wants pets.
He is a couch potato, but also loves to go for walks and meet new people. (He is excellent with strangers and with training I think could make a great therapy dog.)
One way Sam is unlike most Pyrs: he is not a barker!
Pyrs are known to be sensitive dogs, and Sam is still opening up to us after his journey from Texas - his full story is not yet written.
But he is an incredible, beautiful, soulful dog, and he deserves his loving forever home!"
*Sammy tested positive for Heartworm and was treated in TX before coming up North.*
INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Sammy, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.
Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
