NADIA — One of the Miracle Three
Nadia wasn't supposed to get the chance to grow up.
Before she was even born, her owner took her Great Pyrenees mother to a veterinary clinic to be spayed. That's when the veterinarian discovered nine full-term puppies.
Their owner didn't want them and asked that all nine puppies be euthanized.
The veterinarian couldn't do it.
Instead, she called our rescue—and we said yes.
At only two days old, Nadia and her siblings came into our care without their mother. They couldn't regulate their own body temperature. They couldn't eat on their own. They needed an incubator, around-the-clock feedings and people to provide everything their mother normally would have given them.
There were nine babies when this journey began.
Only three survived. Nadia is one of them.
And this little girl didn't fight that hard just to survive—she has absolutely blossomed.
Nadia is sweet, curious and growing into the most wonderful little puppy. After such a fragile beginning, watching her play, explore and discover the world is something we will never take for granted.
Her mama is a Great Pyrenees, but Dad remains a mystery, so Nadia's adult appearance and size will be part of the adventure. Because of Mom's breed, adopters should be prepared for the possibility that she could become a large dog.
Nadia got her second chance at life.
Now we're looking for the family who will give her the one thing she didn't have when her story began:
Someone who chooses her—and keeps choosing her for the rest of her life.
Nadia — Miracle #1. Survivor. Fighter. Future best friend.
