DESCRIPTION

Meet Atlas and Ajax, bonded Pyr mix brothers who are ready to find their forever home together! These sweet boys were found as strays on a highway in Alabama when they were just a couple of months old. They needed medical care and recovery time, and Ajax in particular has come a long way after two FHO surgeries on both hips - he's doing really great and building muscle - he'll be back to normal in no time!

Atlas and Ajax are housebroken and leash trained, though they're a bit shy on walks and sometimes like to lay down mid-stroll. They know how to sit for treats and will even give you the Pyr Paw! These two have medium to high activity levels. They're very well socialized with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and sexes, and they're social with new people too, if occasionally a little reserved. They've been around kids and done well, though because they're big, strong, and playful, they'd do best with older kids.

These boys love to play and will chase frogs, squirrels, and pretty much anything else that moves. Being brushed is basically a love language to them, and they're all for it! They are great in the car, so if you like to get out for adventures, they'd love to go with you! They enjoy a little light digging, just picking at the top of the ground to make a dirt nest rather than any big holes. They're equally happy inside or outside and especially love the air conditioning when it's hot. Their favorite treat is, honestly, food of any kind - they're not picky! On the flip side, they're a little afraid of thunder and fireworks and prefer to be inside when that's happening, and they're not big fans of being out in the rain either.

Atlas and Ajax are sweet, wiggly, and affectionate. They can be playful and sometimes a little lazy, but they absolutely melt when you love on them. Atlas tends to be a bit more on guard than his easygoing brother Ajax. They truly love being around their people as much as they love running around the yard with each other. The ideal home for these two would be low to medium energy with a 4-foot fence; they'd do wonderfully as the only dogs in the house or right in the middle of a whole pack!
