Rhea is a people-loving, dog-friendly cuddle-bug who soaks up affection like sunshine and is happiest near her favorite humans. She loves following the older dogs, running and playing with her siblings, exploring new little discoveries, and then settling in for a well-earned nap. Smart, social, and full of happy energy, Rhea can turn ordinary moments into games, discoveries, and sweet cuddle breaks. She is learning housebreaking, uses a doggie door for potty time, and would do best with a playful family that will continue her training and help her grow - including a dog-savvy child or two who she can happily follow around. Because of her breed mix and needs, Rhea requires a 5-foot secure fenced yard and another friendly large-breed dog in the home. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicants ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
