Meet Frank
Location: Little Elm, TX
DOB: 02/21/2023
Frank is a handsome, gentle soul who is looking for a patient and understanding home to help him continue building confidence. While he can be a little nervous when faced with new people or situations, Frank is a quick learner who responds beautifully to calm guidance and reassurance.
Once he settles in, Frank’s sweet and slightly goofy personality starts to shine. He has a playful, silly side that tends to come out when he thinks no one is watching. He also has a soft, endearing side — especially when he’s curled up napping (and occasionally snoring).
Frank has a moderate energy level and makes a wonderful walking companion. He enjoys being outdoors and would likely thrive with a securely fenced yard where he can explore safely. While he walks well on leash and enjoys his outings, he would love a home where he can stretch his legs more freely.
Frank is housetrained, rides well in the car, and does nicely on leash. He has shown no signs of aggression and has remained calm and submissive when encountering other dogs, even in unexpected situations. He may do well with a calm, confident canine companion, but slow introductions will be important.
Frank can be shy around new people and may take some time to warm up, but with gentle encouragement, he does build trust. He has done well with adults in the home, including visitors, once given time and space to adjust.
One important note is that Frank struggles with being crated and has shown signs of separation anxiety. He becomes distressed when confined and has been destructive in a kennel. Because of this, Frank would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and where crating is not necessary. When given freedom in the home, he does much better, though he may occasionally chew on items like shoes if they are left within reach.
Frank has not been tested with cats or children. Based on his sensitive nature, he would likely do best in a quieter home without young children, or with older, calm kids who can respect his space.
Frank’s Ideal Home:
- A calm, patient household
- Someone home most of the day
- A fenced yard preferred
- Minimal or no crate use
- Gentle guidance to help build his confidence
Frank is a sweet, sensitive dog who just needs the right environment to truly thrive. With patience and love, he will blossom into a loyal and devoted companion.
