Meet Radiant Roo a gorgeous 5 year old female 60 lb. Goldendoodle who is in an IDOG foster home in East Lansing, Michigan.

FAST FACTS ABOUT ROO:

*AGE: 5 .5 years old (born February 2021)

*WEIGHT: 60 lbs.

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and yard are required. Roo loves the freedom that she has to run around as much as she wants in the foster’s fenced back yard and play and do zoomies. No shock collars or invisible fences will be considered, as we do not feel these would set her up for success.

*COAT TYPE: Soft curly/wavy, lower-shedding coat. Adopter should be prepared to brush her coat often to prevent matting and have her groomed regularly with an estimated cost of $120/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: Medium-high energy. Does well with daily walks and outside time to do zoomies! Loves to play tug and fetch with toys.

*DOGS: Yes! She is in a foster home with a 9 year old Doodle and does great! Roo is good with other dogs and she would also be good in a home as an only dog. Roo was an only dog in her previous home, but has done a great job living with another dog at our house. She loves meeting the neighbor dogs also!

*CATS: unknown; she has had no exposure to cats in her foster home.

*KIDS: Yes! Loves kids. The foster family has a 14 year old and she loves him and all his friends. Loves to play and snuggle with them.

*CAR: She does well in the car!

*CRATE: Roo is not crated; she is very well behaved in the house and does not get into things that aren’t hers, and does not chew on things not for her. At night she likes to sleep on the floor next to her humans, sometimes wanders off to the couch in the living room.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes! 100%.

*LEASH: Yes! Walks well on leash; does better when using a harness.
*WITH GROOMING: has not been groomed since at foster family, seems to do better with scissors vs. razor for upkeep.

*AT VET: GREAT!

*VETTING: Roo is spayed, microchipped, current on core vaccines and almost house-trained. She is on monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventives.

MORE ABOUT ROO:

Roo is a gorgeous red 5 year old female 60 lb. Goldendoodle. She was surrendered to IDOG by her family who loved her dearly but they were having financial difficulties and wanted her to be with an owner/family who could care for her and get her groomed and get her to vet visits and give her all the love that she deserves.

Roo is very well behaved and would do well in a home with another dog, or on her own. She needs to walked daily and she likes to get her zoomies out in the evening. She would love a family who loves to be outdoors and loves to play fetch with her. She is ok being left home alone, tends to just lay on the couch and look out the window.

Roo is so very sweet and affectionate. She loves to cuddle, is always excited to see you, and loves to snuggle up on the couch or on the chair. She is very smart, stays away from things that aren’t hers, and is very well behaved in the house. She sleeps well at night, sometimes in bed or she’s just fine on the floor. She loves to be outside, loves walks and loves to play in the backyard. Playing fetch is a favorite activity and she loves playing with toys. Roo is a good listener and will give you lots of head tilts when you talk to her to show how good she is listening.

After adoption we ask that you give any rescue dog time to acclimate the 3/3/3 rule 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months. For 3 days after adoption/transition, the dog may wonder who you are, what the routine is, who the other dogs are. After about 3 weeks, the dog has typically acclimated to your schedule & knows her role in the house. After about 3 months, the dog has revealed their temperament & personality & settled in.

ADOPTION FEE: $575

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:

Puppies & highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting & expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board & train costs, medical/health issues & surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees & our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.
