Liz is a five-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever who weighs around 60lbs. Like most former puppy mill moms, she is timid but is slowly learning the joys of being loved and cared for. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available.
Liz is most confident around other dogs. She will need a home with a canine brother or sister to show her the ropes. No exceptions. Doorways are also very scary, so her new family will need lots of patience as she learns to come back into the house. This is a common fear for puppy mills releases. She can't yet be convinced that sleeping on a fluffy bed is better than the hard floor, but she melts into her newly discovered ear rubs. If you're lucky, you'll catch her trying to figure out how to play with toys or testing the taste of a chew bone. Every day, Liz is showing more and more of the lighthearted and lovable dog she's learning to be. Quick and loud movement still scare her and we are requiring a kid free home. Only 12 and over . A fenced yarfd is also required.
Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.
STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
