DESCRIPTION
My name is Patches and I am a 1 year old supposedly half Golden Retriever who weighs 55 pounds. Apparently my mom was a Golden and my dad was a Dalmatian… but honestly, who knows?! What I can tell you for certain is that I am 100% GOOD DOG.
You may be wondering how I ended up with a golden retriever rescue. Well, here’s my story...
I was rescued with my sister Sophia. She looks a lot more like our mom than I do and we are best friends. Sophia has some medical things the wonderful volunteers at GRCGLA Rescue offered to help her with. The problem was, if Sophia left, I would have been all alone out in a dirt yard with nobody to keep me company. It was okay when we had each other because we could cuddle and play and not feel so lonely, but being out there all day and night by myself would have been awful.
Thankfully, the rescue brought BOTH of us in so we could each have the chance to find loving forever homes. We don’t have to be adopted together, but we are pretty fond of each other, so if that happened it would be really cool.
Whoever adopts me will want to be my training buddy. Since I was a yard dog my whole life, I still have some things to learn, but I am super eager to please and very excited to learn. Chicken helps too.
I would make an amazing running or hiking buddy and camping sounds like the greatest adventure ever. In the short time I have been with GRCGLA Rescue, I have already started learning my manners and how to walk on leash. They got the ball rolling and now I just need that special family who will take the baton from GRCGLA Rescue and keep running with it.
GRCGLARescue adopts within the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego. Because we do require pre-adoption screening and post-adoption follow-up, we cannot support adoptions outside of this service area.
If you have a current application on file and would like to inquire about this dog, please email adoptions@grcglarescue.org. Otherwise, please make sure to complete the online adopter application found at http://www.grcglarescue.org/adopt before sending your inquiry.
