Charlie - German Shepherd Dog and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Yakima, Washington
CHARLIE
German Shepherd Dog, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Yakima, Washington
June 27th
female, large, adult
DESCRIPTION
Meet Charlie, a ten-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing 55 pounds.
Charlie is a fluffy, friendly girl with a big heart and an even bigger curiosity about the world. She came to animal control after being surrendered from a severely neglectful situation where she had gone seven days without food. Tragically, there were also deceased dogs on the property, and it’s clear Charlie is now experiencing many things for the very first time.
Despite her past, Charlie has remained open, social, and people-focused. She loves attention, enjoys meeting new friends, and approaches life with a gentle curiosity that makes her easy to root for.
Charlie appears to have many of the traits commonly seen in German Shepherd–type dogs—intelligent, loyal, and people-oriented with a strong desire to bond with her person. Fans of the breed will likely recognize and appreciate her expressive nature and her potential to thrive with structure, guidance, and engagement. We encourage adopters to research German Shepherd traits and care needs to ensure she’s a great match for their lifestyle.
Because everything is still new to her, Charlie will benefit from patient leadership, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement training as she learns how to navigate the world. Her eagerness to connect makes her a wonderful candidate for continued learning and building trust.
If you’re looking for a soft, fluffy companion who is ready to leave the past behind and discover what it means to be loved, Charlie is waiting to meet you.
This pet is available for adoption on 6.26.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.
