Meet Victoria!

Her Majesty is officially accepting applications for her forever kingdom!

Victoria is a gorgeous 4-year-old, 70-pound Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix with an adorable "Heinz 57" look, a distinguished long snoot, and an extra toe to match her extra-big heart. Her favorite thing in life are belly rubs, cuddles, and being close to her people.

Victoria's journey to finding love is one you'll never forget. She entered a Mississippi shelter as a stray alongside her brother, Victor. During a visit to Jackson County Animal Shelter, her future foster mom chose Victoria for a shelter day out simply because something about her gentle spirit stood out. After a walk in the park, lunch at a dog-friendly restaurant, plenty of treats, and lots of kisses on the ride back, saying goodbye was heartbreaking. A promise was made that they'd see each other againand thanks to Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets Rescue, they did. Victoria eventually made the long trip to Maryland through pouring rain, flooded roads, and thick fog, where she's been thriving ever since.

Victoria is the total package. She's house-trained, doesn't need a crate, has excellent manners, rarely barks, doesn't counter surf, and does well when left alone. She takes treats gently and will politely win you over with her soulful eyes.
She adores stuffed toys, carrying them around like her babies, and gets along well with other dogs while respectfully expecting her space in return. With the right playmate, she loves to wrestle and romp. She can be cat tested if needed and has shown a very gentle natureeven ignoring baby bunnies in her yard. She would do well with respectful children.

Victoria is a lower-energy girl who walks nicely on a leash, rides beautifully in the car, and would be happiest in a quieter neighborhood. She can be a little timid with new people or unexpected noises, but thunderstorms and fireworks don't bother her at all.

When bedtime comes, Victoria transforms into a world-class cuddle bug. If you'll make room on the bedand maybe save her a pillowshe'll happily spend the night curled up beside you.

Victoria is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and finishing the last few weeks of heartworm treatment. Her veterinary team adores her gentle, calm personality, and everyone who meets her quickly understands why.
