Meet Socks — a handsome boy who was named by a 3-year-old, and honestly, we just couldn’t argue with it… even though he has absolutely zero socks!

Socks came into foster care after being TNR’d, but it became very clear very quickly that this guy is not even remotely feral. In fact, he operates more like a certified professional cuddler with absolutely no concept of personal space. He loves giving hugs, leans into people for affection, happily accepts forehead kisses, and will regularly jump straight into your lap to demand lovin’s like it’s his full-time job. If you pick him up, he settles in like he’s been waiting his whole life for exactly that moment.

He’s extremely social and shockingly unbothered by just about everyone and everything. Socks came from a home with two 80 lb German Shepherds and would casually hang out with them in the yard like he was part of the dog squad. In his foster home, he continues his peaceful coexistence with a 120 lb Great Pyrenees, a 70 lb Lab, and a 70 lb Golden/Pyrenees mix — all of whom he gets along with like it’s completely normal.

Cats? Also no problem. Socks is great with cats of all ages, from tiny bottle babies to senior cats with big opinions. He handles their sass with calm confidence and just blends right into whatever chaos is happening.

He is litter box trained and loves interactive play, especially wand toys. But the moment you bring out catnip, Socks transforms into a completely different creature. He goes absolutely wild — rolling in it like it’s his job, eating a little, rolling some more, and then eventually melting into what can only be described as the best nap of his life.

Socks is also very polite about most things… except carriers. He is not a fan. After his last trip (which ended in him being neutered), he’s made his feelings very clear. That said, after a few minutes of dramatic complaining and protest speeches, he settles in and accepts his fate like the dignified gentleman he is.

Socks is goofy, affectionate, social, and endlessly lovable — the kind of cat who wants to be involved in everything, especially hugs, lap time, catnip chaos, and couch naps right next to his people.
