Salem - Flat Coated Retriever and Retriever Dog for Adoption in San Diego, California

Salem is a beautiful 1-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever mix, weighing about 48 lbs, and he is ready to find the loving family he has always deserved.

Salem's story is heartbreaking. He and Cendy, another pup currently available for adoption, came from an abusive home where neighbors would hear them being mistreated. Tragically, during a violent outburst, Salem was seriously injured with a machete while he was still just a puppy.

Thankfully, Salem received medical attention in time, and both dogs were finally removed from that dangerous situation.

What makes Salem so incredibly special is the dog he chose to become despite everything he endured.

Salem is happy, affectionate, gentle, and incredibly loving. He shares a very special bond with Cendy and is protective and caring toward her. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages, cats, and children.

His past may have been filled with cruelty, but it did not define him. Salem still trusts, still loves, still plays, and still greets life with happiness. He is a resilient, grateful soul who deserves to experience nothing but kindness from now on.
