OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Hank the Tank (20260916-02)
DOB: 08/06/2021 Estimated
Age: 5 years
Weight: 61-70 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Hank is a sweetheart who is all about the simple things in life: a comfy couch, a window to look out of, a few good toys, and his people. He is a low-energy, affectionate guy who would be perfectly happy being your laid-back companion. His ideal weight is probably more like 57-60lbs but we love him just the way he is!
When Hank first arrived on August 22nd, he was very sweet and humble but understandably nervous. He was initially slow to eat and drink, but with each passing day he became more comfortable and settled into his foster home beautifully.
Hank is house-trained and has had no accidents indoors with his foster. He will even bark to let you know when he needs to go outside if you don't notice his cues. He enjoys going outside to potty, then heading right back to the door and the comforts of home. He's definitely more of a couch potato than an adventurer!
Hank is wonderfully well-mannered in the home. He doesn't chew on things that aren't given to him and has no need for a crate. He enjoys a good bone or rope toy, but mostly, you'll find him relaxing on the couch and watching the world go by through the window. His foster is occasionally using a crate to help prepare him for transport, but it's not something Hank needs as part of his everyday routine.
Hank is great with dogs, cats, and kids and has a very easygoing nature. He may bark when he thinks someone is coming into the home, but he has shown no aggressive behavior. Once he gets an introduction and a few friendly pets from visitors, he's comfortable and ready to hang out.
He also has excellent leash manners. Hank walks beautifully but isn't particularly speedy. He's not looking to be your running partner, he's much happier taking a relaxed stroll and then returning home to his favorite spot on the couch.
Hank reportedly has a history of ear infections, so his foster avoids rubbing his ears too much. He doesn't seem bothered by them, but adopters should be mindful of his ears and continue to monitor them.
