Looking for a smart, sweet, affectionate little shadow who wants to be part of everything you do? Meet Poppy, a curious DoberDoodle puppy with a wonderful personality and a whole lot of love to give!
Poppy is one of seven beautiful puppies born on August 16, 2026. Their mother is a gorgeous red/chocolate Doberman, and their father is a large black Labradoodle. With this combination, we expect these puppies to grow into intelligent, loyal, long-legged, athletic dogs who will need families committed to providing both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
Now, let's talk about Poppy!
Hi, I'm Poppy! I'm a good-natured, curious little girl who thinks the world is one giant adventure just waiting to be explored!
My foster family says I'm pretty smart and already showing off my problem-solving skills. I try my best to be a good listener, and I'm learning that following the rules and having good puppy manners are important. I'm still just a baby, but I'm eager to learn, especially when it means making my people happy!
Speaking of people, they're my FAVORITE! I love attention, I love kids, and I'm perfectly happy climbing into your lap for some quality snuggle time. If you're heading into another room, don't worry about leaving me behind. I'll be right there! I consider myself a professional little shadow, and I take that job very seriously.
I also get along wonderfully with all the resident dogs in my foster home. They're helping me learn the ropes, and I'm having a great time making friends and figuring out this whole puppy business.
I have plenty of energy for playing, exploring, and adventures, but I also appreciate the finer things in life, like a warm lap, a good cuddle, and being close to the people I love.
My foster family thinks I'm going to make someone an incredible companion. I'm smart, affectionate, eager to learn, and happiest when I'm right alongside my favorite humans. What more could you ask for?
A little more about the DoberDoodle litter:
These puppies currently have wiry coats and shed very little. However, because they are mixed breeds, they are NOT considered hypoallergenic, and their coat texture and shedding may change as they mature.
While they are absolutely adorable little puppies now, they will likely grow into large, active dogs with big brains and plenty of energy. Consistent training, socialization, physical activity, and mental enrichment will be important throughout their lives. These are not puppies who will be happy with just a backyard and an occasional walk!
Poppy needs a family who understands the commitment of raising an intelligent, active puppy and is ready to provide the training, patience, exercise, and love she deserves.
In return, you'll get a loyal companion, an enthusiastic adventure buddy, a clever little problem solver, and a devoted best friend who will happily follow you wherever life takes you!
Could Poppy be your new best friend?
Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.
To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.
Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.
To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org
Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
