DESCRIPTION
Meet Abby
Abby is a sweet senior girl who was found wandering the streets of Rochester a few weeks ago before ending up at Animal Control. Abby is an incredibly sweet cuddle bug who is happiest when she is close to her person.
Abby is blind, has only one eye, and is hard of hearing, so she needs a home that can keep her safe and help her navigate her surroundings. **Stairs are dangerous for Abby**, and she will need to be carried up and down them. She also needs to be taken outside frequently, as she will have accidents if she isn't let out often enough.
The good news is that once Abby is carried outside, **she potties every time!** She sleeps happily either in bed with you or in her own cozy bed-she really isn't picky, as long as she is comfortable and near her people.
Abby would love a home where someone is around with her much of the time. She doesn't need long walks or lots of activity. What she really wants is a safe environment, a little patience, and a warm lap to curl up in.
If you're looking for a gentle senior companion who will happily snuggle up beside you, Abby may be your girl. She has so much love left to give and deserves to spend her golden years feeling safe, loved, and cherished.
Senior for Senior
Abby qualifies for Camp Companion's **Senior for Senior program**. If her adopter is **63 years or older, her adoption fee is waived.**

ABOUT: DACHSHUND DOG BREED
The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
