Meet Gertie!

Gertie is a sweet petite Miniature Poodle who was rescued from a breeding facility and is discovering how wonderful life in a home can be. She is 6.4 lbs and 6 years old. She is still a little shy and learning to trust, but she has already figured out one of the best parts of being a family dog - **cuddling!**

Unlike some dogs from her background, Gertie will actually **come to you for cuddles**. She loves being close to her people and is happiest when she can snuggle up and enjoy some affection.

Gertie is still learning all about living in a home. She is **not leash trained yet** and is working on her potty training. Because she is still gaining confidence, she will need a **securely fenced yard** and another friendly dog in the home to help give her confidence and show her the ropes.

Gertie will need a patient adopter who understands that she is still learning and will give her the time she needs to continue blossoming. She has already come a long way and is showing more and more of her sweet personality every day.
