Meet Mr. “G”
Governor. Gregarious. Gorgeous. One little guy who lives up to all three!
We started with “Governor” because he's the first to step up and greet people. Then came “Gregarious” as he demanded everyone's full attention with his antics. And, of course, “Gorgeous”—because those awkward, adorable poses for treats deserve their own photo collection!
But this affectionate little character wasn't always so confident.
When we received a call about a small dog hiding under cars and running the streets, we found Mr. G sleeping beneath a trailer beside two men working on a car. They explained he had been there for over a year. Everyone knew him and fed him, and the open, empty cans beside the trailer's tires told that story.
As Babs assessed how to safely capture him, Mr. G emerged and stood at one man's feet. Seeing how comfortable he seemed, Babs asked the man to slowly try touching him. Mr. G hesitated, but he didn't run. Then Babs offered a leash—and he let the man put it on.
Somewhere along the way, Mr. G had known people. He just needed help finding trust again in a world of fast cars, loose large dogs, and predators.
Once secure, he warmed up immediately. Beneath that cautious exterior was a loving, playful boy ready to be part of someone's life.

Ideal Home
Mr. G would thrive with people who want an affectionate companion and understand that confidence grows with patience and consistency. He's happy to join you on life's adventures, but he can also settle in his crate when you need to head out.
He wants animal friends, too—he's simply still learning how to be one. Patient guidance and well-matched companions will help this eager little guy continue to blossom.
Mr. G spent his early years close enough to people to want connection, but without the security of a family of his own. Now he's ready for that next chapter: a home where his greetings are welcomed, his silly poses are appreciated, and his trust has room to grow.
He's already mastered being Mr. G. Now he just needs someone to call him “ours.”
