Meet Ollie
Medical Foster Needed
We don't know what Ollie's life looked like before he came to us, but we know it wasn't easy.
He was first spotted crossing Highway 94 near Tecate, dodging traffic while dragging a line that had become tangled around his hind legs. Once we safely trapped him and removed the line, we noticed he would hop when he walked and frequently limp on one of his back legs.
We hoped it was temporary soreness. X-rays told a much different story.
Ollie has an old, fractured pelvis that was never properly repaired. The scars on his legs were only the visible part of what he had survived.
Now Ollie needs surgery, followed by rehabilitation and physical therapy, and we are looking for a medical foster to help him through it.

Physical therapy will help him rebuild strength and muscle and give him the best possible outcome from surgery
AWHFD will provide support throughout his medical care and rehabilitation.
Ideal Home
Ollie doesn't need a huge house, acres of land or someone home entertaining him all day. He needs a quiet, safe place to recover, someone willing to follow his rehabilitation plan, and a person who will love him unconditionally while he heals. Most importantly, his foster home must have a space where he is away from other dogs. This is a temporary commitment while Ollie recovers and we continue looking for his forever home.
Ollie has already survived more than any dog should have to. Now he needs someone who is willing to help him through the next chapter — not forever, just long enough to get him healthy, strong and ready for the life he deserves.
Of course, if Ollie moves in and somehow convinces you he should stay forever... we're not saying we'd complain.
