DESCRIPTION
Meet Cricket! Sweet, spunky, and full of personality, Cricket is a senior Dachshund who has been through quite a journey - and he's ready for his happily ever after!
Cricket's beloved owner passed away and, sadly, no family members were able to take him in. That's how this little gentleman found himself in our shelter. When he first arrived, Cricket's skin and hair loss were so severe that he looked almost like he was made of stone. But with proper care, medicated baths, and plenty of TLC, this handsome boy has had quite the glow-up!
While his appearance has transformed, Cricket's charming personality has been shining all along: he's sweet, spunky, and has so much love left to give! Now, all he needs is a family who will love and cherish him the way he deserves and make sure he continues receiving the care and attention he needs as he enters his golden years.
A shelter is no place for a senior gentleman like Cricket. He deserves a cozy home, a soft place to land, and someone who will remind him every day just how special he is. Come meet Cricket today - you just might fall head over heels for this little guy!
ABOUT: DACHSHUND DOG BREED
The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
