Cinder - Husky Dog for Adoption in Galveston, Texas

Cinder is a wonderfully loving husky mix who is looking for a home where he can be cherished, spoiled with affection, and enjoy plenty of walks and adventures!
If your idea of the perfect dog is one who wants to be right by your side, soaking up pets, brushing, and cuddles, Cinder is your perfect guy! His world pretty much revolves around his people and getting loved on. He's a quiet boy who doesn't bark much, and he has a calm, cooperative personality on leash. He walks beautifully without pulling and has even happily walked on a double leash alongside a larger dog.
Cinder loves getting out and about and he's also a great car companion, settling into the back seat and simply relaxing while you drive. Cinder isn't particularly interested in traditional dog toys or playing fetch, but give him a Kong filled with treats and you'll have his attention!
Cinder wouldn't mind living with a calm, compatible canine sibling who is similar in size, but no cats please! He finds them far too tempting. Large crowds can also be a bit overwhelming and does best when given some space and time to decompress rather than being placed in highly stimulating environments.
Cinder has spent the past year being treated for heartworm disease, which meant his activity had to be restricted. He is now heartworm free! He is understandably excited to have more freedom to get out and explore, although he'll need to gradually build his stamina and conditioning rather than jumping straight into intense exercise.
Cinder has so much love to give, and he deserves a home where he can finally settle in, feel safe, and simply be someone's beloved dog! He may not be the dog who runs around chasing toys or playing with every dog he meets, but he is the dog who will quietly walk beside you, happily accept every scratch and belly rub, curl up near you, and keep you company wherever you go!
