What's that saying go - three's company? Well, this adorable doxie mix sibling trio will have you smiling from ear to ear grinning like a pumpkin! Ready just in time to dress up for trick-or-treat festivities in their new addresses, Skippy Jon, Juju-Bee and June Bug each have their bags packed and are ready to go!. First up is brother Skippy Jon - he has been vetted, neutered, microchipped, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. A forever family of his very own is all that's missing. Please read on for his story, and for instructions on how to request an application for his! Please be on the lookout for his sisters who are also available!
Here is what we know about SKIPPY JON:
- Skippy Jon is approximately 10 weeks old now, and weighs 3.6 pounds. Don't let is small size fool you, this guy is full of personality!
- Skippy Jon and his siblings are dachshund mixes. Mom was a dachshund purchased from a breeder, and Dad is unknown but we suspect he may have been a rat terrier or another form of small terrier mix based on these pups looks and dispositions. The good news is that they all have the best traits and characteristics - they are low riders but likely will be spared from the typical back problems of purebred doxies as a result of their breed mashups. An extra bonus is that they are all show-stopper cute!
- Skippy Jon (and his sisters) were taken into rescue as very young pups. Since then, all have been thriving and receiving lots of TLC. They are ready to be adopted into forever families now.
- Skippy Jon and his siblings are very much still babies, so they will need a family up to the challenges and excitement of puppyhood who will help these cuties grow into the best dogs they can be. They are tiny but mighty, and we think they will do really well with proper enforcement on things like housebreaking, crate training, leash walking, learning commands etc. Foster mom said it best - these cutie pies are a true blank slate and will need their families to teach them everything there is to know!
- Skippy Jon is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has received a clean bill of health.
- Skippy Jon and his siblings share a foster home with other dogs and get along great with them. They would do just fine as the only dogs in their new homes, but also could live well with another friendly pup.
- Skippy Jon and his siblings haven't been directly exposed to cats, but we think with a proper introduction they would be just fine with them. Most cats will be larger than they are!
- Skippy Jon and his siblings are tiny, and small in stature as well. As a result, we think they would do best with older children 8+ who could safely manage them and are old enough to understand doggy boundaries. All of them are playful and well socialized and love to be held.
- Because Skippy Jon is so tiny, he is easy prey for lots of wildlife out there. He definitely can't be left unattended while outside, but would love to have some supervised playtime in a nice fenced in yard!
- We would love to see Skippy Jon go to a home with small dog and/or breed experience, but welcome all applicants.
What we love about Skippy Jon: He is a lot of dog in a small package!
Is Skippy Jon the one for you? If so, he's got his doggie bags packed and is ready to make his way home to you!
Skippy Jon's adoption fee is $750! That covers all of his vetting and care up until the point of adoption.
