Charlie - Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Falmouth, Maine

Handsome Charlie has been vetted, neutered, microchipped, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. He is now ready to make his way home to you! Read on for Charlie's story, and for instructions on how to request an application to add him to your family! Please also check out his playmate Luna's listing too!

Here's what we know about CHARLIE:

- Charlie is @ 2-3 years old, and weighs about 24lbs. He is full grown.

- As you can tell by his adorable good looks, Charlie is a dachshund and fits all of the breed characteristics to a T.

- Charlie and his playmate Luna came into rescue when their elderly owner could no longer care for them. They have since been receiving lots of TLC in foster care, and are ready to find forever homes of their own now.

- Charlie has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. Our vet has given him a clean bill of health as well.

- Charlie is what we consider a "plug and play pup" who has most of his training down pat already. He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks really well on a leash. He is still working on commands but is super smart and eager to please so we know he will be excited for anything else his new family might want to teach him!

- Charlie loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them at foster mom's house. He is especially bonded to his playmate Luna. He would do just fine as the only dog, but certainly wouldn't mind a doggy playmate of his own too!

- Charlie has done well with kittens in the past, but has chased some outdoor cats in foster mom's yard so a future home with cats may not be the best fit for him unless the cats are very dog savvy.

- Charlie loves kids, and would make a great family dog. Foster mom says she is very sweet and affectionate and loves to play.

- We would love for Charlie to have a fenced in yard of his very own where he could run and play at his leisure.

What we love about Charlie: He is the perfect size for some family fun!

Is Charlie the one for you? He's got his doggie bags packed and is ready to make his way home to you!

His adoption fee is $400.00, which covers all of his vetting and care up to the point of adoption.

The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
