Introducing Rose — a 6.5‐month‐old Cocker Spaniel with a heart as golden as her coat.
Rose’s story is one of heartbreak turned into hope. She was originally purchased for breeding, and her former owners thought it was “cute” to tie her ears up in a bun. The ties were left for weeks, cutting off circulation and causing the tips of her ears to become necrotic. When she was brought to the vet, the abuse and neglect was obvious, thankfully rescue stepped in just in time and gave her the chance she deserved. Her ears have healed beautifully, and though they’ll always look a little different, they’re now a badge of her strength and survival.

Despite everything she’s endured, Rose has somehow forgiven humanity. She’s affectionate, trusting, and full of love for everyone she meets — people, dogs, cats, and children alike. She’s a joyful, social girl who adores playtime, splashing in the pool, chasing toys, and riding in the car (especially if there’s a pup cup detour on the way).

At around 21 pounds, Rose is the perfect size for any adventure or cuddle session. She’s bright, resilient, and endlessly sweet — the kind of dog who reminds you what unconditional love really looks like. Rose is living proof that kindness can rewrite even the saddest beginnings and she’s ready for her forever home and a lifetime of love!

Rose is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
