Saffron in Texarkana TX - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Texarkana, Texas

Saffron is a female yellow or beige chihuahua or similar mix. We estimate her to be 2 years old and she weighs 10 lbs. Saffron is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. She is ready for adoption.

Saffron was surrendered to a Louisiana shelter along with several other dogs 2/12/2026. She was one of the two most outgoing of the group and seems socially well-adjusted. Saffron is a smiler, showing her teeth in the cutest way. She is dog and cat friendly. Saffron is active and smart as well as affectionate. If you want to walk her on a leash she will need a little work but Saffron is potty and kennel trained.

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size.
