Paprika in Texarkana TX - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Texarkana, Texas

Paprika is a female yellow or tan chihuahua or similar mix. We estimate her to be 2 years old and she weighs 10 lbs. Paprika is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. She is ready for adoption.

Paprika was surrendered to a Louisiana shelter along with several other dogs 2/12/2026. She was one of the scared, shy ones of the group which allowed us to see that even when highly stressed she will not hurt a person trying gently to interact with her. Paprika has up ears that she uses to communicate. She is very pretty dog and very loving once she gets to know you. Paprika is dog friendly. She may need some supervision and introduction with a cat, but should be able to live with a cat as well. Paprika is alert and active. If you want to walk her on a leash she will need a little work but Paprika is potty and kennel trained.

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
