Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Pointe-fortune, Quebec

Meet Gus, a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua who arrived at Animatch with two other Chis after their human’s health issues made it impossible to continue caring for them. While they came in together, Animatch is not looking to place them as a trio — in fact, these little dogs are more co-dependent than truly bonded. It’s time for Gus to discover the world on his own terms and grow into the confident dog he was always meant to be.

Gus is searching for a patient, Chihuahua-savvy guardian who understands that socialization is a journey, not a race. Much of life is still new to him: walks, car rides, outdoor adventures, and simply learning how to relax and enjoy being a dog. Gus has four perfectly good legs and he needs to use them! Carrying small dogs everywhere may seem cute, but it can often create insecure little “armpit piranhas” who never learn to navigate the world confidently.

With time, encouragement, and consistency, Gus has the potential to blossom. He would do especially well in a home with another calm, well-balanced small dog who can show him the ropes and help build his confidence. An adult-only home, or one with respectful children over 12, would suit him best, as chaos and grabby hands are simply not his style.

Gus is currently pee-pad trained, but he also needs to learn that the great outdoors is more than just something seen through a window. Small dogs are still dogs — they enjoy walks, fresh air, and exploring the world just like the big guys do.
