Meet Taquito!
At just 5 pounds and 1 year old, Taquito is a tiny guy with a big future ahead of him. While many dogs his age have already experienced the sights, sounds, and routines of family life, Taquito spent much of his first year crated because his previous family simply didn't have the time he needed. As a result, many everyday things are brand new to him.
The good news? Taquito is taking it all in stride.
This sweet little dog is timid but gentle, with no signs of aggression. He enjoys the company of the other dogs in his foster home and is slowly learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. He's discovering things like toys, routines, attention, and even what potty training is all about. Every day brings new experiences, and he continues to make progress.
Taquito will need a patient adopter who understands that trust and confidence take time to build. He isn't the type of dog who will walk into a new home and immediately act like he's lived there forever. With consistency, kindness, and encouragement, he's already showing that he's ready to learn and grow.
Because of his very small size, Taquito is looking for a home with school-age children or older.

All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250.
