Moose *Arriving 9/26* D12494 - Chihuahua and Rat Terrier Dog for Adoption

Moose is a couch-lovin', grade-A cuddler looking for a cozy spot to land, preferably right next to you in bed! This little trooper was found as a stray, made his way into rescue and has been decompressing from a rough start. He is being treated for heartworm and could stand to gain a few pounds and some TLC.
Moose has been practicing his housetraining, but will need support in understanding where to go. He's ready for a calm environment where he can be the center of attention, but he would also be comfortable co-existing with other calm companions in the home whether it's kids, cats or dogs, so long as they can respect his chill demeanor. Moose is a very friendly little guy and gets along with everyone he meets! Moose has a talent of making himself disappear, only to be found snoozing under some blankets in the coziest spot he can find. When he's ready for attention, he does a cute little dance standing on his back legs! Moose loves his people and is ready for his next chapter, can you match his chill energy?

Moose is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/26/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
