Meet Enrique
To adopt Enrique, please start by filling out an application at upshotdogrescue.org. We will call promptly after receiving your application to schedule an adoption call. For more rescue updates, follow Charlaine Raynor on Facebook and @upshotdogrescuepr on Instagram.
Enrique is a tiny 8-pound, 7-year-old Chihuahua who was found wandering down the street, covered in fleas and ticks. Despite his rough start, he is safe now and slowly learning that life can be gentle again.
He is not quite a senior, but he is at the age where he deserves a truly permanent home. Enrique can be a little shy at first, and new environments can feel scary, but he is warming up beautifully. Once he feels secure, he is friendly, easy to handle, and such a sweet little companion.
He is potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, sleeps through the night, and loves settling into his playpen. Enrique has been tested with other dogs and is currently in a home with cats—he does not seem to react to them at all.
We are looking for a patient, loving forever family that will give Enrique the time to feel safe and ensure he never has to experience another major change again.
