Meet Poppy
Poppy is a sweet, sensitive girl with the softest heart and the cutest blanket-burrowing skills around. She was sadly abandoned and has been through more than any dog should, so the world can feel a little big and scary at first. But in her foster home, Poppy is learning that she is safe, loved, and finally allowed to just be a dog.
Poppy arrived understandably nervous after being abandoned, but with patience, structure, and lots of reassurance, she has begun to blossom. Once she feels secure, her true personality shines through: affectionate, loyal, silly, and completely devoted to her people.

Ideal Home
Poppy would do best as the only dog in the home, or with a calm small- to medium-sized dog who will give her plenty of time and space to warm up. Bigger dogs can make her nervous. She is not especially interested in making feline friends either, though she can coexist with cats who respect her personal space.
Poppy may be shy in the beginning, but behind those cautious eyes is an incredibly loving best friend waiting for her person. Give her patience, safety, snacks, and a cozy blanket—and she will give you a lifetime of loyalty, kisses, and unconditional love.
