Bella - Chihuahua and Yorkshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Fairfax Station, Virginia
BELLA
Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier
🇺🇸
Fairfax Station, Virginia
October 27th
female, small, adult
DESCRIPTION
KNOWN WITH DOGS: Bella is fine with dogs and fostered with several of various ages/sizes. She handles puppies well too but as she is tiny, it's imperative that she be safe.
KNOWN WITH CATS: She is fine and mostly ignores cats - they are all bigger than she is! She also has been around kittens and done fine!
KNOWN WITH KIDS: Bella is stand-offish with new people and would not likely enjoy young, loud children. So she is best suited for a home with kids over 12 yrs.
KNOWN COMMANDS: She knows her name and come! She is great about getting her harness on to go for walks. She also seems to understand "go potty".
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Her housebreaking is coming along and we suspect any issues over the last week have been from her transition. She does GREAT in a crate when left alone and
at night. She does need to go out regularly and usually goes quite quickly. The first week she was with she had several accidents. It's helpful to take her out almost immediately after she eats as well.
KNOWN LIKES: She LOVES being cuddled. She loves treats. She loves walks.
KNOWN DISLIKES: None really other than she takes time to warm up to new people so she'll bond quickly but she is not the type to greet people like a Golden Retriever.
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: This sweet girl is tiny but mighty. She walks around the City like she owns it. She came to us VERY scared of people and traumatized from being in the shelter. She was also covered in fleas, underweight and showed signs of neglect. So we can't blame her for being timid. But in a short time she has blossomed fast and big - she loves her walks. She loves being cuddled. She relishes time with her humans and loves to be cuddled. She also rides well in the car. She will need to go out rather
frequently to continue her housebreaking curve. She has come a long way in a short time and would love a quieter home where she can get lots of love!
