Meet Peanut, an itty-bitty guy with a big personality packed into just about 2 pounds of fluff.
Peanut was born in foster care after his mom—a petite Chihuahua—was brought into the shelter while pregnant. His dad is unknown, but Peanut is clearly a small-breed mix who will stay on the smaller side. He arrived into the world weighing just 3.6 ounces and has been growing steadily in foster care ever since.
Now about 8 weeks old, Peanut looks like a tiny polar bear with his soft, light-colored coat and round puppy features. Don’t let his size fool you—he’s full of playful, curious puppy energy. He loves to tumble, explore, and bounce around like everything is brand new.
Peanut is learning important early social skills and is thriving in foster care, soaking up attention, affection, and playtime whenever he can get it.
Because of his very small size, Peanut will need a home that understands the care and safety needs of a small-breed puppy. He would do best in a home that can provide gentle handling, consistent care, and lots of supervision as he grows.
