Chihuahua and Rat Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in Friendswood, Texas

BRUCE THE BELOVED

Chihuahua, Rat Terrier
🇺🇸
Friendswood, Texas
April 21st
male, small, young

DESCRIPTION

Bruce is a 10-pound bundle of sweetness with a friendly nature, a love for booty scratches, and a beloved stuffie that he carries around the house. He doesn’t kiss on the first date and he doesn’t need to be the center of attention but somehow easily manages to be with his simple presence.

Go watch Bruce on YouTube, then come right back to read more about Bruce and why his gentle, affectionate nature makes him such an easy little companion to fall for.
https://youtu.be/1NpCHfADx7k

Bruce is estimated to be around 2–3 years old and weighs just 10 lbs. He appears to be a chihuahua, but as always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. Let’s talk about his personality, because this is where Bruce shines! He’s incredibly people-friendly and will happily walk right up to new faces looking for affection. He has a natural lap dog approach to life- with you is where he wants to be and if you are sitting he is going to be curled up as close to you as he can manage.

Bruce has nice, easy leash skills and enjoys getting out for little walks, but he’s not out here trying to max out his daily steps. For him, walks are about sniffing, observing, and saying hello to the world.. He also enjoys car rides and will happily ride in the passenger seat or the back if necessary. One of his foster’s favorite things about him is how he carries around his favorite stuffed animal. It’s adorable and endearing, like a tiny emotional support stuffie. It’s one of those little quirks that makes Bruce feel so special and so easy to love.

When it comes to other animals, Bruce is wonderfully respectful. He lives with dogs and does well with them, though he tends to be more of an observer than a playmate. He’s not looking to wrestle or roughhouse, and would do best with a low-energy, easygoing dog who shares his calm approach to life. He can live with both small and large dogs, as long as they’re not overly pushy. With cats, Bruce has already shown he can coexist nicely. He may be a little unsure at first, but with time and space, he settles in and does just fine.

Bruce is also good with kids and tolerant of being picked up and handled, which makes sense for a little guy who’s probably been scooped up and carried more than a few times in his life. He goes with the flow, is gentle, and all around easy company. He would be a great fit for an apartment or a home with a yard, and he’s especially perfect for someone looking for a true companion dog… the kind who is happiest curled up next to you, sharing quiet moments and soaking up affection.

If you’ve been dreaming of a small, loving, low-key best friend who will happily claim your lap and your heart… Bruce is ready and waiting! Apply today and welcome home your future couch companion, car ride co-pilot, and stuffed-animal-carrying little shadow.
