Sabrina - Cairn Terrier and Border Terrier Dog for Adoption in Gainesville, Virginia

PLEASE NOTE: We expect Sabrina to receive quite a bit of interest, so we are prioritizing serious adopters who are prepared to move forward once approved.

Sabrina is currently expected to arrive in the DMV around October 30th, although we are working to see if we can bring her in sooner. A $100 deposit may be placed by one approved adopter to secure her. The deposit is applied toward the adoption fee, refunded if you attend the meet and decide she is not the right fit, and forfeited if you do not attend the scheduled meet.

Meet Sabrina, a sweet little terrier mix getting ready to make her way to the DMV in search of her forever family!

Sabrina is a female terrier mix believed to be around 5 months old. Based on her current size and appearance, we believe she will likely stay under 30 pounds when fully grown, although we can never guarantee adult size with rescue puppies.

Since Sabrina is still new to us, we are continuing to learn more about her individual personality, energy level, house manners, and what makes her happiest. At around 5 months old, she is still very much a puppy, so her adopter should be prepared to continue working on potty training, crate training, leash skills, socialization, and all the other basics that help a young dog grow into a wonderful companion.

Sabrina’s exact breed mix is unknown. Terrier mix is our best guess based on her appearance, but with rescue puppies, there can always be a few surprises as they grow!

Sabrina’s adoption fee is $600.

Most of our dogs are rescued from high-intake shelters in Texas or directly from the streets of South Texas. The adoption fee helps cover transportation to our foster homes, age-appropriate core vaccines, deworming, microchip, heartworm testing when age appropriate, and other veterinary and rescue expenses.

We partner with VCA Animal Hospitals. Every adoption includes a complimentary First Exam at a participating VCA location within the first 14 days of adoption. VCA also provides limited health guarantee coverage of up to $250 for certain minor illnesses diagnosed during that initial period.

We do not guarantee the breed of any of our dogs or how large they will be when fully grown. Breed listings are our best guess based on appearance, known history when available, and personality traits. We also cannot guarantee that any rescue dog is not mixed with pit bull.

Paws Deep Animal Rescue is a nonprofit rescue. Any excess revenue is used to care for animals with additional medical needs and allows us to continue helping dogs who may otherwise be left behind.

The Border Terrier is a small, fearless, and affectionate breed known for their devotion to their families. The Cairn Terrier is a small, sturdy breed known for its lively and intelligent temperament. Originating from Scotland, these dogs are recognized for their shaggy, weather resistant double coat, often found in shades of cream, wheaten, grey, or red. Cairn Terriers are independent yet affectionate, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families.
