Meet Marcus!
A handsome all-white sweetheart with a gentle heart, a grateful spirit, and so much love to give.
Name: Marcus
Age: 3 years old
Weight: 51 lbs
Color: All white
Breed: Bull Terrier mix
Neutered: Yes
Vaccines: Up to date
Prevention: Current on prevention
Heartworm: Completed heartworm treatment
Marcus came from a shelter, where he was only there for about 2 weeks before getting his chance at foster care. When he arrived, he had bite wounds all over him, especially around his neck, from what appeared to be a dog fight. His outside wounds have healed beautifully, but every now and then he may have a slight limp on his left front leg where the wounds were the worst.
Even with what he has been through, Marcus is such a sweet boy.
Personality: Marcus loves his people and wants to be near them. He is affectionate, eager to please, and has learned so many manners since being in foster care. He is a smart boy who wants to do the right thing and just needs a family to keep showing him the good life. He is with teenagers in his foster home.
Dog Friendly: Marcus has been amazing with every dog he has met, from puppies to dogs much bigger than him. He has shown what a gentle, social boy he can be.
Cats & Chickens: Marcus had a brief meeting with cats and quickly decided they were creatures he would rather stay away from. He has also been around chickens and did not try to chase them.
Crate Life: Marcus is a dream in his crate and very clean. He is crated at night and during the day as needed, and he does great with the routine.
Leash Skills: Marcus walks well on a leash. He may pull slightly if something smells really interesting and he wants a better sniff, but overall he does very well.
Energy Level: Marcus has a medium to high energy level. He will need either a taller fenced yard, since he can easily jump a shorter fence, or a family committed to regular walks and helping him get his energy out.
Mealtime: Marcus is fed Purina dog food and has done well on it. When he first came into foster care, he was food insecure and growled during group feeding, but he has since become comfortable and no longer has an issue. He also takes treats very gently.
Marcus is a sweet, resilient, loving boy who has already overcome so much. He is ready for a forever family who will love him, include him, and give him the safe, happy life he deserves. Fill out an adoption application to have him join your family. His $400 adoption fee covers medical care to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, heartworm treatments, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
